LANDSCAPES

All my life I have been fascinated by the spaciousness and vastness of landscapes. From the dunes of North Holland to the ice plains in Iceland: they are a source of inspiration for me as a professional painter.
My landscapes are both figurative and abstract. Prior to the final painting, I use different techniques. With pencil, pastel and charcoal I investigate the image to get it 'in my hands'.
I work in thin transparent colour layers, to maintain the brightness of the light and get depth in the painting. In this way, I hope that the viewer recognises something of my love for the landscape and with everything that can be seen there, and wants to go with me.
